Today’s freedom day here. It’s also Ash Wednesday. We attended the mass at 10a.m., had our foreheads marked with the sign of the Cross, and visited our holy friend, HLBC, afterwards. We chatted for good 30-45 minutes before we ate our lunch at the KFC. Since it’s declared holiday, we decided not to go home yet. We had a bus tour via 999 at 1:00p.m. We didn’t know about the place so it was already at the bus stop (final destination of the bus) when we learned that we were already at another province of this country! Two hours of riding the bus, not air-conditioned, hehe. The bus driver said, “I pity you. Why you didn’t tell me that you’re going to S?” (a certain city here). LOL. Honestly, no one between husband and me bothered asking where S was. We just went with the flow, where the bus would finally stop. Read the rest of this entry »

Matthew 7:7-11 Prayer is the appointed means for obtaining what we need. Pray; pray often; make a business of prayer, and be serious and earnest in it. Ask, as a beggar asks alms. Ask, as a traveller asks the way. Seek, as for a thing of value that we have lost; or as the merchantman that seeks goodly pearls. Knock, as he that desires to enter into the house knocks at the door. Sin has shut and barred the door against us; by prayer we knock. Whatever you pray for, according to the promise, shall be given you, if God see it fit for you, and what would you have more? This is made to apply to all that pray aright; every one that asketh receiveth, whether Jew or Gentile, young or old, rich or poor, high or low, master or servant, learned or unlearned, all are alike welcome to the throne of grace, if they come in faith.
Amazing how God does all the wonders in our lives! We just came from the hospital to check on the status of my heart. It’s perfectly all right. There was no heart murmur or whatsoever to cause us alarm in preparation for my delivery, normal in that case. The reason for asking for a checkup from a cardiologist is to be certain that everything’s perfectly fine with regard to my health. That has been one of Read the rest of this entry »

Two nights ago, I wasn’t able to sleep at once because of the sandstorm. I inhaled the sand, must be the reason why I could hardly sleep *sucks*. Sleep chased me at 5:00a.m. already the next day, and was awakened by a text (on husband’s phone) from his office. I had to get up from bed for it was indeed too late for my breakfast (although I had a quick grab of yogurt at 3:00a.m.). Husband was asked to go to the MOJ, but later did we know from his office that it was me who should go there. Bad idea. We weren’t informed at once, or at least a day before that. I hurriedly prepared myself, washed my face, and grabbed an apple. I didn’t have time for a quick breakfast because the driver was waiting for me downstairs.
The green apple I brought with me to the MOJ was of course wasn’t enough to satisfy the hunger of two stomachs, that of mine and of my baby’s. After 45 minutes of waiting, I saw a fellow noypi drinking Starbucks’ coffee. So I thought there must be a Starbucks outlet in that building. I told husband that we should order some food from starbucks. I ordered chocolate donuts (2 pcs) and just a bottle of mineral water. It was somehow enough to combat my hunger. It was already past 12 in the afternoon when we finished the business transaction. Read the rest of this entry »
I don’t remember having cooked a decent meal during the past six years (guilty). It was always my husband who cooked in our house. For the past three years, I was busily engaged in feeding my mental tank, and poor hubby did almost all of our household chores. After finishing the course, I got pregnant with our first baby, and the first three months were occupied with nausea and vomiting. I couldn’t stand the smell of anything in the kitchen. Now I wonder if I am just lazy or I really am a cooking-challenged person. Read the rest of this entry »
