Finally! I was done reading the book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, two nights ago, and this is my first book review entry for The 2009 -100+ Reading Challenge; but, it’s only this time that I am able to make a thorough review of it.

What can I say? Two thumbs up! It’s my first time to read a self-help book that not only convinces me of the power of the subconscious mind, but opened up opportunities for me. It’s not just a self-help book, but a how-to-book that offers insights on how to literally get on with the good life that is available for everyone, only if we learned how to tap our subconscious mind, the highest power within ourselves. Although it’s only a 295-paged book, it took me over 10 days to finish reading it. I literally read the book word for word, inculcating in my mind the wisdom that the author has put unto that book.

It usually takes me just a few days or a few hours non-stop to read a book, but this time around, I couldn’t just finish it up. Along the way of reading the book, I visualize in my mind the countless possibilities of success waiting for me. I also put into practice those steps that were introduced in the book. The book has helped me visualize a perfect delivery of my baby. Every night before I retire to sleep, I think of my baby coming out from me in a painless, smooth, easy, and normal way. It’s what I am attracting. It’s what will happen. I dismiss any fear, any negativity that people would tell me about childbirth. I believe in the power of my subconscious mind.

I researched about the author of the book – Dr. Joseph Murphy (1898 – 1981), and I learned about the many books he wrote. After reading The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, I’m going to purchase his other books.

Reading the book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, is like ‘listening’ to a living guru on self-development. It’s powerfully written because it addresses one’s questions on how to live life, how to be healthy, wealthy, and make use of the power within. Under each chapter are vivid examples of how the power of the subsconscious mind was used by people he mentioned in the book, and on how we can apply them to our specific needs. At the of each chapter are the various keypoints or ideas worth remembering. If you want to take a look at the various chapters of this book and an excerpt of Chapter I, please go over this site to give you an overview of the book.

Believe it when Dr. Murphy said, “I have seen miracles happen to men and women in all walks of life all over the world. Miracles will happen to you, too—when you begin using the magic power of your subconscious mind. This book is designed to teach you that your habitual thinking and imagery mold, fashion, and create your destiny; for as a man thinketh in his subconscious mind, so is he.

[…] I haven’t finished reading the book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, maybe, the effect of those uncalled for and unkind remarks would have been so heavy on my part. […]
