A taste of chicness

When I got immersed with this country we are residing in, I was able to see how different people are in terms of fashion, style, and likes. They have distinguished tastes when it comes to style of clothing, the brand, the shoes, the bags, and even the way they carry themselves. They simply look good.

Looking good doesn’t require buying expensive clothes and accessories. It is perhaps more on the side of feeling good inside and then it radiates on the outside. Oftentimes, feeling good inside emanates on how we are dressed, on our make up, accessories, bags, clothes, and shoes. It’s how I can some people here. They don’t go to malls or anywhere without having done their hair and their face by going first to the salons. I don’t say we have to do the same for us to look good. The mere fact that we know how to take care of ourselves by bathing regularly and by changing our clothes everyday are enough for us to be considered presentable and fresh-smelling peeps. I won’t talk more about others; rather, I would talk about how I can acquire just a taste of chicness in my own little ways.

I want to lose my flab, 15 pounds, nay, for me to be able to have at least a taste of chicness. Haha. Or rather it’s SHEEKS-ness. Sigh. I bought clothes a few months back; but, unfortunately, I could not wear them yet. I feel fat with those clothes. I realized that, even though, I got the best clothes and shoes, the branded ones, but my body isn’t of best shape and size, I don’t feel comfortable with the add-ons. The tendency for me is to hide my huge tummy in ordinary clothes that don’t reveal much of what’s inside me. I would not wear my fashionable shoes then because they are not becoming with my ordinary get-up.

In just a span of two months, we are going back home. I am having a mind setting that I should not wear my “pambansang damit”. I could wear them (the pants and shirts), but at least with a taste of chicness. For me to be able to dress confidently, I have to feel good with my body.

Chicness doesn’t come just from the brand, style, and price of what we are wearing. It’s more on how we are wearing ourselves, that is, how do we wear an expression of ourselves?

HOW DO WE EXPRESS OURSELVES with what we have? This question reminds me to put a new category – FASHION FOR MOMS – in this blog. Motherhood doesn’t end being flabby; motherhood starts and continues to be classy.

P.S.

Regularly, I will add fashion links in my posts about fashion:
