Dear Baby2,

How are you, my baby?

Congratulations, we’re now on our 30th week, baby2! Yipee, 9 weeks and 6 days more to go, we’ll gonna see you, baby!

Mommy’s so happy that we’re perfectly doing well – you and Mommy – in this pregnancy. I’m so proud of you! You’re so strong. You kick Mommy so hardly that there are times I’d wake up in the middle of the night. Tehee. Keep it up, my baby.

I can’t wait to see you and hug you and kiss you. A few days back, your yaya washed your clothes already. You have lots of clothes, my baby. Daddy and Mommy bought them a couple of months back. Ate A has lots of baby clothes for you, too. Ate A keeps on kissing “you” in Mommy’s tummy while saying your name. How cute. I know that you and Ate A will be the best of sisters, best of friends.

Baby, let’s pray for a healthy, safe, normal delivery of Mommy. I know that you will cooperate with Mommy as I give birth to you by June.

Now that we’re on our 3rd trimester of pregnancy, Mommy started listening to nursery rhymes and other audio books. I have yet to listen to Mozart songs. Forgive me, baby, for there are times I couldn’t read to you, but, I will always make up for it. Later tonight, I will read to “you” and Ate.

By Saturday, we’ll see you via SONAR. Wow, we couldn’t wait for that day. Who would be your look-alike in the family? Daddy says you should be Mommy’s carbon copy. Yeah, yeah, but not Mommy’s nose. Please do get it from Daddy.

Prayer for Easy Birth

Master of the Universe, I thank You for Your graciousness in granting this pregnancy.

May it be Your will, O God, our God, and God of our fathers, that You have mercy upon all pregnant women of Your nation that are giving birth, and specifically upon:

(the woman’s name and her mother’s name).

Let no sickness or blemish affect the mother. At the time that she is giving birth, may You speed the labor, so she may give birth easily and without any pain or suffering.

In the merit of our holy matriarchs – Sarah, Rivka, Rachel and Leah – may the baby be complete in all his limbs and senses. May the baby come forth to a good and peaceful life, at a good time and with good fortune.

May she deliver the placenta in its proper time, and may she be healthy and well for Your service.

May You heed our prayers, and answer our beseeching. For You are merciful and You hear the prayers of every mouth. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O G0d, my Rock and my Redeemer.

T H E  5th L E T T E R

Dear Baby2,

Howdy, my baby! It’s confirmed – finally – that you’re a baby girl! Mommy had the SONAR last 29th of this month, and the doctor said you’re a baby sister to your Ate. Ate A was in the clinic that time, and she heard the news that you’re a girl, and she said, “YES!”(when she heard us say “YES!”)…

We’re all excited to see you, baby! Four more months to go, and we’ll gonna hug and kiss you.

You’re moving a lot in Mommy’s womb; that’s good. Thank you for always assuring me that you’re doing good. Thank you for kicking me anytime of the day or night.

I knew what it felt like not to have children.

I was once there. I was childless for six years before I gave birth to my 1st born. I thought either my husband or me was infertile. It was devastating to some extent when I’d think of why I didn’t even get pregnant in the first six years of our married life.

I never took any pill for the past six years. A lot of people from my native country were telling me that we shouldn’t delay having babies.
