My singer-wanna-be four-month-old-baby

A few weeks back, I blogged about how I witnessed my baby lulling herself to sleep by stroking her head with her hand, and on the next day, how she lulled herself to sleep by singing! She got the former habit from her daddy, and the latter from me, her mommy. Well, it really is true that what we do to our children, they become accustomed to it until such time that they do it by themselves.

A few days after that incident, I also blogged about how the three of us sang the song “I DO” by Mark Wills, her daddy’s themesong for us, baby and me (this has, since then, become our family themesong. This morning, as I was lulling my baby to sleep, I played the song, I DO, as a background music. I noticed that she was singing. I put my right hand in front of her mouth, as if it’s a microphone, and she sang all the more. Haha. This reminds me to buy her a toy microphone at the soonest. Continue reading →

Developmental Milestones of Baby at 4 months

It dawned on me that I barely had enough time to blog although I long had wanted to. For one thing, I was busy with the christening of my baby three days before her 4th month birthday. Another thing, I barely had enough rest because of too much activities at home – parties, chitchats, and lots of musings about life.

Pwera bati, my baby is gifted – no doubt about it. While it is very ironic that she first uttered the word “lola” (for persons) and not mommy or daddy, still I was so happy upon hearing it. The word “lola” was the one that our dear friend told my baby to call her, maybe for a month now; but, it was only during the christening of my baby that she uttered that word 2x. Goodness. My two friends in front of me and my baby were really shocked upon hearing that word – was so clear and crisp. A day after her christening, she said the word “yak” after she sneezed.  Two days after her 4th month birthday, she said the word “ngek. ngekngek”. Hehehe. Three days after her 4th month birthday after that, she said the words “daddy, dad, yaya”…much more to my amazement because she has never called me as “mommy” when in fact I am always with her…WHY? A big why, indeed! Maybe the reason that I could think of is that she misses those people (lola, daddy, yaya) more than me (that’s why she first uttered their names when they showed up on her)…I don’t know. Anyway, I am hoping that someday SOON she would call my name (mom or mommy). AND you know, the way baby speaks – she speaks like an adult already – good thing she’s not doing any baby talks.

I am very happy that I have a multi-talented baby, and beautiful, too. She has a beautiful voice as well. She knows how to carry a tune. A few days back, daddy, me, and baby were all singing the song (I Do – Cherish You – by Mark Wills) and, indeed, baby was hitting the tune! And yes, she said the words “I will” (part of the song) to our amazement. Good thing I was able to record our “performance” in my phone (although she kept on looking at the cam).

Whoa. I am a proud mommy of my baby (although sometimes I could see that she’s also defiant like me). No. She’s not defiant perhaps, just a little bit tough on the outside, but soft on the inside. It’s what I want her to be for her to be able to protect herself on the outside world. Her name resembles that personality – a little bit kind, a little bit defiant, but most of all GOD-fearing and with respect to humanity.

Developmental milestones of my 3-month old

My baby girl just celebrated her third-month birthday. I was expecting that she would be rolling over, just like what she did when she was just two months old. But alas, it seemed she’s a bit lazy. My mama said that all of us, my siblings and I, rolled over at exactly three months. With my baby, the reason for not rolling over since she started to roll over then was her pillow. I am not sure though. Anyway, other than that, I thank God for making her a brilliant baby. She knows how to respond, she gazes with an intelligent look, she’s such a darling, she squeals when happy, she doesn’t cry that much (such a very kind baby!), she is both beauty and brains (PB!).

On her third month birthday, her godmother commented that baby’s lips look like that of angelina jolie’s. Whoa! Is it a dream come true? In fact, her godmother’s the second person to make such a comment. When I was pregnant with my baby, I kept on looking at Angelina’s photos. Effective!? Whoa. I hope her lips would really look like Angelina. When my baby was just days old, I also thought that there was something noticeable on baby’s lower lip but I just wasn’t sure. I thought that the slight mark on the center of her lips was just brought about by the nipple of her feeding bottle. But alas, that mark couldn’t just go away. What brought me to blog about this was when I saw Angie’s picture just a moment ago.

When I still wasn’t sure that my baby’s lips look like that of Angie, I had been criticizing her mouth for it looks like that of my MIL. hahaha. :D Peace. Now I am very happy that baby’s lips are, indeed, resembling that of Angie’s. (claps)…

On baby’s 3rd month and 1 day, I started giving her green barley 1ml. Thanks, God, she’s been liking the taste. There’s no wastage unlike when she was still taking tiki-tiki. I am waiting for the other vitamins of my baby (which my sister sent via express mail). I asked my sis to buy cherifer growth factor, and other 3 vitamins. Well, I really want my baby to grow taller than us, her parents. hehe.

My husband and I were both proud parents of our baby when we went to the clinic to have her BCG. We saw other kids of the same age of baby, and, her size isn’t too smallish, we guess. (PB!). Thanks God. Although there were some babies who really were so big. Nevertheless, what we both thought (last night) was that our baby has the most intelligent look among all the babies there (4-5 babies). Our baby was just the one who kept on looking around the clinic. The other babies were simply contented on being cradled or being carried by their parents. Pwera bati!
