October is here! Yay and Nay!

Oh my God, I have totally forgotten about the calendar! I thought September isn’t over yet!

It’s both a yay and a nay for me that October is here!

Yay! because we’d be going back to our home country soon.

Nay! because I am panicking inside. I have still a lot of flab to lose!

I have to visualize myself wearing that ideal, perfect weight.

I have to eat well.

I have to exercise moderately.

I have to keep moving.

It’s past 1a.m. already and I am still wide-awake; tinkering the Web on how to lose my flab in just a month. Geez.

Hard work, dude!

I just joined SELF to keep me motivated.

Benefits of potassium

Last night, my husband and I walked/shopped for almost six hours. He was complaining of not being able to breath properly. He said that it might have been the effect of too much vomiting after he was food poisoned. He exerted much effort in vomiting such that the muscles were stretched out. When we reached the mall, he was still complaining of shortness of breathing. When we reached home, he watched a movie until 2:30a.m. (I ate my midnight snack at 1:30a.m. in preparation for the 8-hr fasting).  I told him to stop watching movie. He told me that he could not properly breath, and watching the movie was his way to cope. Off he went to bed with me. Later after a few minutes, he immediately got up for shortness of breathing again. I was alarmed. I told him that there must be a lot of elements that were lost from his system due to excessive vomiting brought by the food poisoning he had the other night. Since I usually keep my mobile phone (with WIFI) under my pillow, I immediately contacted my other bestfriend in this place we are in, Mr. Google (my first bestfriend is my collection of books). Natural Oral Rehydration Therapy: First aid to food poisoning

I was awakened at 3a.m. this morning from a deep sleep when I heard my husband’s vomiting at the bathroom. Unsure though, I immediately got up from bed and checked on him. He was indeed vomiting! I panicked and was clueless as to the cause of his vomiting. Was the pancit he ate at 12 midnight the culprit, I wondered. Later, we realized that he was then suffering from food poisoning. (Lesson learned: don’t eat pasta, noodles on an empty stomach especially during night time. The noodles he ate were still intact/not digested after 3 hours.)

I waited for him to be stabilized, but lo and behold, the vomiting was nonstop until 5a.m. I was already worried because we just couldn’t go to the hospital here. It’s so scary to be sick in this country we are in because of some stories we heard in the past. (That’s the reason why we opted to go to the most expensive maternity hospital here)… Continue reading →

Rare heart disease – warning for new moms!

As an expectant mom, I am keen on monitoring about stuffs related to pregnancy, baby, and parenting. This morning, while cleaning up my emails as a regular habit that I do before attending to my company stuffs for the day, I thought of watching some videos from Yahoo! and ABC. I’m going to discuss first about this rare medical condition that afflicted 3-year old Rhett Lamb – he was only sleeping for two hours.

CHIARI MALFORMATION

My attention was first caught by the 3-year old boy,Rhett, who just couldn’t sleep before, and that mysterious medical condition is now solved through a successful brain surgery. Click on the photo below to play the video at the ABC site. Continue reading →
