Dear Baby: 70th natural letter for my baby

Dear Baby,

Hello, baby! Howdy! You just slept an hour ago. You didn’t sleep in the afternoon. At dinner time, you just ate one small piece of chicken! Uh-oh. You must be very full from what you ate at lunch. You ate creamy macaroni, a different recipe from what you ate for the past two weeks.

Mommy kept on researching new toddler recipes for you. It was our fault that we just served you macaroni (soup) for the past two weeks. It’s because you also don’t want to eat any other food. But you always drink your Pediasure milk for three times a day. I checked your teeth and there are new teeth coming out. It must be the reason why you aren’t keen on eating a lot lately. Glad that we have a new yaya to experiment the toddler recipes I printed for the past two nights. At meal times and sleeping times, though, it’s still Mommy who takes good care of you. Mommy drops everything she does just to see that you are eating, and that you’re sleeping at least twice a day. But hmm, lately, your sleeping pattern has changed. Baby, you need to sleep well. It’s for your own good.

A few days from now, over 10 days, we’ll be on international travel as a family. We don’t have a nanny yet as soon as we reach the Philippines. We do hope that we’d get someone who can be trusted when Mommy and Daddy leaves for some important stuffs in our provinces. I am sure that Mama and Papa will look after you while we’re away. It would be hard on my part to leave you even for just two weeks because even here at home, you’d cry knocking at the door while Mommy’s at the bathroom. :D It’s separation anxiety, my baby, and Mommy is experiencing that, too.

It’s amazing how you know how to ask us to place our two hands in our faces, and you mimicked it, too. You first asked Daddy to put his hands on his face, and then you asked Mommy to do the same. When we were done, you placed your hands on your face (on both sides). Then you asked Daddy to remove his hands, and Mommy’s hands, too. You also did the same. And then, you asked us again to put our hands in our face, and removed them again. There was rhythm in what we did, and you never were confused doing it.

At16 months (uh-oh! I am shocked to know that you’ll soon be 17 months, I thought you’re just 15month-old!), you know a lot of trick already. You also watch movies intently, and you seem to understand what the characters are saying. Whenever you see Mommy holding the remote control, you’d chant “Edi, Edi, Edi”, (meaning, “Alvin, Alvin, Alvin”). You love to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks a lot.

This morning, you started drinking rice powder with milk to gain weight, as your yaya said. I do hope that you’d gain weight, baby. PLEASE.

This is all for now.

Dear Baby: 61st natural letter for my baby

Happy Birthday!

Dear Baby,

Belated happy birthday, baby! You’re now 1 yr and 4 months! Yehey! It’s also the first time you celebrated your month birthday that Mommy and Daddy forgot to greet you! Oh no. So sorry for that. Although we don’t usually celebrate your month birthday after your first birthday, we don’t forget really to greet you! But. maybe, Mommy’s too preoccupied lately. Daddy was the one who told me that I should not scold you yesterday morning because it’s your birthday. I cried.

Mommy has been stressed out lately. I wrote you in my previous letter that we have a new nanny. After three days, she’s gone. Too bad. Mommy told her to have a day off after three days, and she didn’t come home. It’s her loss; not ours.

For the past three days, Mommy was talking with a new maid. We were about to meet her later today. But at 1a.m., she just texted me that she won’t come. Ahh, we don’t have luck in maids. Don’t worry, baby. God will give us the right person.

This is all for now, baby. Mommy has to wash your bottles. I’ll write you again soon.

Dear Baby: 46th natural letter for my baby

Dora the Explorer as a tween.

Dear Baby,

This is my 2nd letter for you today!

I just want to tell you that you really amazed Mommy and Daddy awhile ago. You were going out of the room when Mommy suddenly asked you, “where are you going?” in a normal accent. You suddenly clapped your hands to the rhythm of the clapping in Dora the Explorer. Daddy and Mommy repeated the words again. You clapped again.

We were also amazed when suddenly you got up from our bed and you started tapping your feet. Wow. You must be remembering something that you have watched in Barney! Mommy just couldn’t figure it out yet. Unsure of myself, I just sang the song, “if you’re happy and you know it stomp your feet” and you continued tapping your feet.

You also shocked us when suddenly you attempted to point on the blank wall – as if imagining that you’re reading, rather, sounding off the alphabet “aaa” “baaa” hehe. That’s so cool. We’re reminded then to put the alphabet anywhere around our house. Mommy thought you’re not interested in learning so Mommy put on hold the teaching of the alphabet in your blackboard. But Mommy will resume it again. Although it seems you don’t seem to pay attention, you are absorbing everything; you just show them after a few hours or days. WOW. Mommy’s so right in teaching you at an early age.

While at the bed, too, you pointed on the figures and letters in the counting book and started to “read”. You sounded off the letters of the alphabet! So cutteeeeee, baby.

Comes Friday, we’ll buy the rubber alphabet at Daiso. Your old rubber alphabet is no longer complete so Mommy didn’t put it back on our wall when we transferred to our new flat.

Oh, I remember this morning, it was a success to bath you without crying! Haha. After your breakfast, as usual your face and body are covered with food, Mommy washed you at the lavatory. You didn’t see the green basin that we use to bath you so you probably thought that Mommy would just wash your face and hands. Then I thought of washing your hair. I got the shampoo and the baby bath from the bathroom. You were not aware what would happen next. I bathed you right there and then. You were about to cry, but, didn’t do so. I wonder why. Next time I’ll do the same. But, ahh, I wish you’d not cry when I bath you, baby. When you were young, you’re crying every time I remove you from the basin. Now, every time you see that we’re about to take a bath, you wail at once. :d

This is all for now, baby. Mommy has to wash your bottles.

Dear Baby,

You’re asleep as Mommy writes this letter. I should have written you my 44th letter last night, but, we’re all tired! Out of nowhere, we just thought of going to the 360mall after the last mass at 8:00p.m. Daddy read in the mass. He said he was nervous, but, he did well.

Thanks heavens for your angel, baby! We were supposed to fall down from the chair when we were about to sit. Mommy was carrying you, and the chair moved backwards. Uggh, thank God we were both safe! An angel held us from falling down.

We were not late for the mass. We arrived an hour earlier. Haha. Usually, we’re late. :d

So, after calling our family driver (a family taxi driver; I hope Daddy will get his driving license soon; he already gave his papers this morning), we just told him to drive. We didn’t have a particular place to go to last night. Then, Daddy thought of that mall! Presto. It was a good choice. Bad, we didn’t bring our cameras! Lesson: we should always bring our cams.

Since you didn’t eat your dinner before we left our place, we decided to order at KFC. Oh, the table as usual was so messy when we left. Haha. You love to spread your food everywhere and eat it from there – like the sofa, top of table – anywhere but not on your plate. LOL.

Prior to eating, we walked on the floor. Oh, baby, you’re so adorable. You weren’t afraid to walk, but, since it was tiled, we opted to hold your hands (left and right) for safety. People were saying, “ahh, cute!!!” Haha. People were, indeed, mesmerized by your cuteness!

And, if people were mesmerized by your cuteness, Daddy and Mommy were both overwhelmed by your sweetness! We knew that you’re overwhelmed with happiness, too. You first kissed Daddy’s hand, and he was touched! Then, later, after a few seconds, you kissed Mommy’s hand! Oh, my baby! We love you thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssssss much! Words can’t describe how much happiness you give us.

Then, later, you kissed Mommy’s hand again. And yes, you’re really a balanced kid! You then kissed Daddy’s hand!

You’re so natural in showing your gratitude, your love! No one forces you to kiss us! Did I mention you kissed Mommy’s shoes the other day? Hahaha.

I remember yesterday, Mommy was sleeping when you kissed Mommy on her back! Wow. You do sure remember how we, too, pamper you with our kisses – everywhere.

This morning, you surprised Mommy (on the bed) when upon waking up, you opened your mouth and made the sound of kiss “tsup” and oh, you really gave me a morning kiss! Daddy also asked for a kiss; you didn’t. But, of course, you had your own time and way of showing your affection. You kissed Daddy on his sleeping pants as soon as you two were already standing.

I am so thankful for having you as our first baby. Ahhh, you’re awesome! You’re the world’s sweetest 1-yr old baby!

This is all for now, baby. Sleep well.

mommy
