Dear Baby,

Happy birthday, my brilliant baby! You’re 17 months now! I vividly remember the time you’re just a small baby.

Wow. How time flies, really! I am thankful to God for giving you to us. I am forever grateful.

I am thankful, too, that despite the fact that you have lots of teeth coming out simultaneously (both upper and lower) since yesterday, you don’t have fever, and you don’t cry. You just love to bite the wood, or Mommy! You also love to eat cold foods like ice cream, and hard ones, too. You don’t eat much these days maybe because of your teeth. You also have a runny nose, a bit. Anyway, soon, you’ll be OK.

It’s been four days since I last wrote you. Mommy was so busy and preoccupied with our problem with your yaya’s transfer of sponsorship. Yesterday was a very hectic and pressured day. Everyone was agitated regarding the transfer issue. Glad that we were able to finally talk with the new sponsor, and by Sunday, everything will be OK. Let’s pray for that.

How are you, baby, at 17 months?

FANTASTIC.

Superb.

Brilliant.

Beautiful.

Charming.

Sweet.

Talkative.

Music Lover.

Pianist?

Singer.

Dancer.

and more.

Mommy forgot to blog about what you did the other day. You surprised yaya when you told her that you needed to take a bath! You went to the kitchen and told her through putting your hands over your head (as if you’re shampooing your hair). Yaya asked you if you wanted to take a bath, and you nodded. You were saying something, she said.

Yesterday, you surprised us when you played the piano with your feet! And yeah, there was a sweet melody coming from the tapping of your feet! How did you do that? You’re gifted.

Last night, you slept without eating your dinner. Daddy and Mommy went out to settle an important matter with someone. When we reached home, Mommy asked yaya if you ate your dinner, and she said that you asked for food upon waking up! Cute.

You show a lot of antics and tricks at 17months. You’re simply AMAZING, baby.

Happy birthday again, my baby! We’ll have a small party later.

I forgot to mention…our AC unit is now functioning! Hurrah, it’s now cold in our house. It was fixed last night by the aircon technician after 8 attempts.

This is all for now. We’ll be flying to the Philippines six days from now. Glad to know that your previous yaya back home will be available to take good care of you.

Dear Baby,

Howdy, baby!

Our AC isn’t OK yet. It’s been a month already that we’re dealing with this problematic air-conditioning unit at home! It’s a staggering 28 degrees Celsius at home! Uhh, it’s really hot. So sorry, baby, we’re situated in a country that is freakin’ hot. The caretaker of our building isn’t mindful of his duty to fix the aircon. After our vacation next month, we’ll gonna transfer to a new flat.

Right now, we’re dealing with another problem – that of the transfer of your new yaya under our name/sponsorship. She just couldn’t be transferred to us. We’re looking for a local here to be her sponsor, and we’ll just pay the sponsor. Let’s pray that we find the right person soon.

We just came back from your yaya’s agency, and everyone wasn’t that supportive. The owner of the agency was shouting for no reason at all. The agency gave us a week (until Sunday, which means 4 working days from now) to finish the transfer. SIGH.

We’re hoping to get out of this country, your birthplace, at the soonest time possible.

Don’t worry, baby, everything will be fine. For as long as your new yaya is taking good care of you, there’s no problem with releasing too much money just to make her our legal maid. Glad that she’s cooking a variety of toddler recipes for you.

In 11 days, we’re traveling to the Philippines. I need to start packing tomorrow.

I also want to write today how brilliant you really are. Mommy was talking in Filipino (I forgot about my topic then) when you suddenly said, “happy”. WOW. I am happy that you’re happy, baby. :)

You also have this habit of closing the door when you’re about to sleep. It means you’re no longer interested in playing so you close the door. You really would sleep in our bed after closing the door. Haha. You’re such a brilliant, baby.

This is all for now.

Dear Baby: 68th natural letter for my baby

Dear Baby,

Hello, baby!!!! Mommy’s so ecstatic to tell you that you gained 1kg in just less than five days! WOWOWOW.

How’s that? Before, 3 months would pass without a change on your weight. Just a new yaya did the trick in making you gain weight. Oh baby, I’m so proud of you. I’m thankful to God, too.

Your new yaya is heaven-sent. She is just awesome. You’re doing just great with her. You like her a lot. You’re now kissing her on her pants. Uh-oh. I think I already wrote that in my previous letter. Yesterday, you bit her! You bit your yaya in her left arm, and it put a mark on her arm (with your two big teeth) Tehee. The other night, Daddy was just telling me about biting, if you’re already biting any one. :)

Tonight, as you were playing inside your tent which I asked Daddy to setup (again), I saw that there was something different with you. Your godmother already mentioned about it last night re: your physical dev’t (pwera bati!), but, I just ignored it, until tonight. I am truly thankful to God. It doesn’t matter how much money we spent to get your new yaya. What’s important is that you’re growing well. I asked her to make rice water for you (for your milk) for three times now. It could have made a difference, I guess. She cooks our food on a daily basis, and you’d love to eat, too. Now, Mommy is more relaxed to feed you. Thank God!

Your yaya said that in all families that she went to, it’s only you who’s like that to her – who didn’t cry on the first meeting/first encounter, who looks for her every now and then (before going to sleep, you look for her; after waking in the morning you look for her; you look for her most of your waking time!) hehe. Well, it’s OK; you’re still the sweetest daughter that we have. You still love to kiss Mommy!

Yesterday, it was Mommy’s first time to go out alone via taxi! (WOWWOOW). I got no choice but to really leave you with your yaya. Thank God you’re OK, and that you didn’t cry when you woke up and didn’t see me. But when I arrived, you immediately went to Mommy. You still cry occasionally, in fact, most of the time when I’m at home, and you wanted to let me carry you. There was a time you were crying, looking for me at the bathroom — when I was here in our bedroom. :)

This is all for now.

Dear Baby,

You’re talking with Daddy right now. Actually, you got the phone from Mommy as I was speaking with Daddy. You’d cry when I’d get back the phone from you.

Daddy’s a bit down today. He’s having a hard time in getting his driving license. The Ministry was telling the messenger to bring back the certificate to the Embassy for authentication, when it was already authenticated. Money. Money. Anyway, glad that you’re cheering up Daddy.

Yesterday, you really caught us by surprise, baby. I burst into tears when you learned how to pronounce the letters of the alphabet. WOW. Congratulations.

You also learned a new word last night – see? Yes, with that correct intonation of saying it – SEE? Hehe. You’re really impressive, baby! You’re always making us proud of you.

This is all for now.
